Heidi is deeply dedicated to supporting vulnerable youth and families, drawing on her strong background in social work and more than two decades of frontline experience. With a long-standing commitment to addressing youth homelessness, she brings extensive knowledge and insight to her role as Program Design and Training Consultant at A Way Home Canada.
Before joining A Way Home, Heidi played a key role as a trainer with the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness, where she not only facilitated training sessions but also conducted fidelity reviews to ensure program quality and effectiveness. Her 17-year tenure with the Boys and Girls Club of Calgary—where she managed Housing First programs—highlights her steadfast dedication to providing essential services to youth in need.
At A Way Home Canada, Heidi contributes significantly to the Making the Shift Youth Homelessness Demonstration Lab, offering tailored coaching and training to community partners across Canada and internationally. Known for her practical, hands-on approach, she empowers service providers to deliver person-centered care that truly makes a difference.
Heidi brings deep expertise in the Housing First for Youth (HF4Y) model, the Family and Natural Supports framework, fidelity assessments, and program development. She continues to provide vital support in all areas of youth homelessness prevention and is a trusted advisor in shaping transformative, evidence-informed practices in the sector.
