Privacy Policy

Last updated September 29, 2026.

The Short Version

You answer two questions and, if you want the program, give us an email address. From there, we collect what we need to run the program, keep the Services working, understand how they are used, and improve them. Our primary database is in Canada. Some of the service providers we rely on process data outside Canada, including in the United States. We do not sell your personal information. We do not track your screen time or monitor what you do on your phone. Nobody reads what you enter as it arrives. You can see, correct, export where available, or delete what we hold about you by writing to info@offline.now or, where the option exists, from your settings. The full text below is what counts.

Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

Offline.now Inc., a Canadian corporation based in Toronto, Ontario (“Offline.now,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operates the Services and is responsible for the personal information collected through them. Our privacy officer can be reached at info@offline.now. This Policy covers all of the Services: the website at offline.now and its subdomains, including app.offline.now; the Offline.now app and program; the assessment and the Offline.now Matrix; messages we send by email, text, or messaging platforms; the practitioner directory; worksheets, tools, plug-ins, and downloads; content we publish; newsletters; workshops and events we run; and any feature, channel, or service we add later. This Policy is part of our Terms of Use. Information collected before this date by the previous operator of offline.now is now held by Offline.now Inc. under this Policy. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and the provincial privacy laws that apply to us. “Personal information” means information about an identifiable individual.

What We Collect

We collect only what the Services need. Depending on how you use them, that may include:
  • Assessment answers: your two answers, when you gave them, your time zone, and the poster, link, or campaign that brought you to us.
  • Account details: your email address and, if you choose to give them, your name, age band, role, gender, phone number, or messaging handle. Only the email address is required.
  • What you write: the stake you name, the steps you choose, the anchors, tags, reasons, notes, feedback, and anything else you type or send us. We keep it as you gave it and show it back to you.
  • Program activity: check-ins, ratings, plans, milestones, the messages we sent you and whether they were delivered or opened, and the choices you make in the program.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, links clicked, referring site, and similar data collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Practitioner profile data: for practitioners listed in the directory, professional details such as name, credentials, practice, location, contact details, and photo.
  • Payment data: if you pay us, your payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We receive confirmation and limited details such as the last digits of a card. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Communications: what you send us by email, message, or form, and our replies.
  • Consent records: what you agreed to, which version, and when, including when you withdraw.
If you use voice input, your device or browser converts your speech to text and only the text reaches us. We do not receive or store audio. We do not collect your screen time, monitor your phone or other apps, or use your device’s location services. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Where It Comes From

Most of what we hold comes from you: what you enter, what you choose, and how you use the Services. Some comes from your device or browser automatically. Some comes from third-party platforms you connect, such as a messaging platform that tells us your handle and whether a message was delivered. For practitioner profiles, some information comes from publicly available professional sources such as regulator registers, professional directories, and practitioners’ own websites; see Practitioner Profiles below. Where you arrived from a partner, poster, or campaign, we record that source.

How We Use It

We use personal information to:
  • run the Services: create your account, place you on the Matrix, deliver the program, send and schedule messages, and show you your own information;
  • personalize the Services: choose what to show or send you, and when, based on your answers and activity;
  • keep the Services working and secure: prevent abuse, detect and fix problems, and protect our systems, users, and practitioners;
  • support you when you contact us;
  • measure and improve the Services: understand how they are used, test changes, and develop new features;
  • research and report: create de-identified or aggregated information that does not identify you, which we may use for any purpose, including research, publications, and describing the Services to partners and the public;
  • market the Services, with your consent where the law requires it;
  • run the practitioner directory: publish listings, connect you with practitioners you choose, and process listing fees;
  • process payments and keep business records;
  • comply with the law, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our Terms.
Some of what the Services show or send you, and when, is chosen automatically by software based on your answers and activity. No decision with legal or similarly significant effects on you is made automatically. We use AI-assisted tools to help run the business. Where those tools handle personal information, we use them on business terms that do not permit the provider to train on it.

Who We Share It With

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share it only:
  • with service providers who help us run the Services and the business, such as hosting, database, email and messaging delivery, analytics, payment processing, customer support, and AI-assisted business tools, each under obligations to protect it and use it only for us;
  • with messaging platforms you choose to connect, such as WhatsApp or Messenger, which carry your messages under their own terms;
  • with a practitioner you choose to contact or book through the Services, who receives the details needed for that contact or booking;
  • within our corporate family, if we have affiliates, for the purposes in this Policy;
  • with a buyer, investor, or successor in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business, where personal information is among the assets transferred, on terms that continue to protect it;
  • when the law requires it, in response to a court order, subpoena, or lawful request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Offline.now, our users, practitioners, or others, including to investigate fraud or abuse; we will tell you when we lawfully can;
  • with your consent or at your direction.
De-identified or aggregated information that cannot reasonably identify you is not personal information, and we may share it freely.

Where Your Information Is Stored

Our primary database is hosted in Canada. Some of the service providers we rely on to run the website, send messages, measure traffic, process payments, and operate the business process data outside Canada, including in the United States. While your information is outside Canada it is subject to the laws of that place, and courts, law enforcement, and regulators there may be able to access it. We use contracts and other safeguards to protect it wherever it is processed.

Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for three purposes:
  • to make the Services work: your session, the token that connects your assessment to your account, sign-in links, remembering your choices, and carrying an invite or referral code;
  • to understand and improve how the website is used, and to measure the results of our marketing, using analytics and advertising tools such as Google’s, which may set their own cookies and collect data about your visit under their own policies;
  • to know whether some of our emails were opened, using the standard open receipt of our email provider.
You can control cookies through your browser settings and, for advertising cookies, through the opt-out tools those providers offer. Some parts of the Services may not work without essential cookies. Our fonts and some embedded content are served by third parties that receive your IP address and browser details when a page loads.

Messages and Marketing

Program messages are part of the Services you enrolled in. You can stop them on any channel with one reply or one tap, and you never need to give a reason. Marketing messages, including newsletters, are sent only with your consent, and every one includes an unsubscribe. Stopping marketing does not affect your program, and stopping the program does not affect newsletters you have separately chosen to receive. We keep a record of your consents and withdrawals so we can honour them.

Practitioner Profiles

The practitioner directory is public by design. A profile shows professional information, such as name, credentials, practice areas, location, and contact details, so that people can find a practitioner. Some profiles are created by practitioners themselves. Others are created by us from publicly available professional sources, such as regulator registers, professional directories, and practitioners’ own websites, and are shown as unclaimed until the practitioner claims them. We do this so that people can find practitioners in their area, and those profiles are based on professional information that is already public. If you are a practitioner, you can claim your profile, correct it, or ask us to remove it at any time by writing to info@offline.now. We act on removal requests promptly. When someone contacts or books you through the Services, you receive the details they provide for that purpose and must use them only to respond.

How Long We Keep It

We keep personal information for as long as you have an account or a listing, and for as long afterwards as we need it for the purposes in this Policy, to keep business and legal records, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our Terms. When we no longer need it, we delete it or de-identify it. Assessments that are never connected to an account are de-identified after a period. Backups are kept for a limited time and removed on a routine schedule, so deleted information may remain in a backup until that backup is removed. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify the information connected to it, except what we must keep for legal, accounting, security, or dispute purposes. De-identified information may be kept indefinitely.

Security

We protect personal information with technical, physical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit and at rest where appropriate, access restricted to people and providers who need it, and backups. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that your information will never be accessed or disclosed without authorization. If a breach of our safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.

Your Rights and Choices

Subject to the law, you can:
  • see the personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
  • correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • receive a copy of your information, where an export option is available;
  • withdraw consent to uses that rely on it, which may mean we can no longer provide some or all of the Services;
  • stop messages on any channel, and unsubscribe from marketing;
  • delete your account, from your settings where the option exists or by writing to us;
  • ask questions or make a complaint about how we handle your information.
Write to info@offline.now from the email address on your account. We may need to verify your identity. We respond within 30 days, and we will tell you if we need more time or if the law prevents us from doing what you ask. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or to the privacy regulator in your province.

Age

The Services are for adults. You must be 18, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, to create an account, use the program, or list in the directory. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it and close the account. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, write to info@offline.now.

Changes to This Policy

We may change this Policy at any time as the Services, our providers, and the law change. We will post the updated Policy with a new “last updated” date. For material changes we will give reasonable notice, for example on the website, in the app, or by message, and where the law requires new consent we will ask for it. Your continued use of the Services after a change takes effect means you accept it.
