Cara Briscoe

Therapy as a space to reconnect with who you actually are.

About Me

Cara Briscoe builds her practice around genuine collaboration β€” working alongside clients rather than prescribing a direction, drawing on their own understanding to shape a path toward growth. A Registered Psychotherapist based in Mississauga, she holds a Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph, where her research examined anxiety in couples, family power dynamics, and the lived experiences of people with HIV and AIDS. That academic grounding shows up in how she works: with a systemic lens that takes seriously how sociocultural forces shape identity, relationships, and everyday well-being.

She supports individuals, couples, families, and young people across a wide range of concerns β€” anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship struggles, identity, self-esteem, and more. She also works with people navigating the quiet exhaustion of feeling perpetually reachable yet somehow unseen, where constant contact has quietly replaced actual closeness. Sessions are available online throughout Ontario, and Cara offers a free consultation so prospective clients can get a real sense of the fit before committing.

Her practice is part of Psychotherapy Collective, an online clinic whose guiding belief is that meaningful change begins when people feel genuinely empowered β€” not directed β€” within the therapeutic relationship.
