I work with trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief and anxiety. My work also includes complex trauma, loss, human rights injustices and the stress that affects clients’ sleep.
I mainly use narrative therapy, with somatic practice, mindfulness and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In narrative work, I look at negative stories that get in the way of living by one’s values, and I open the way to stories that help people grow. I am trained in embodied social justice, embodied conflict resolution and EMDR, and in work that helps clients reconnect with the body and recover from harmful systems.
I am Maile Grace, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Denver, Colorado, and I see clients through online therapy. I understand trauma and the difficulties facing marginalized communities, and I work with people on irregular or night shifts. My sessions are curious, empathetic and non-judgmental, and my aim is a safe space where any topic can come up.
