My work is trauma-informed, person-centered and strength-based. I am Courtney Schafer, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Okemos, Michigan. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

My specialties include work with people who have lived through abuse, whether sexual, emotional, physical or psychological, and with people dealing with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), relationship issues, self-esteem issues or family conflict or dysfunction.

My goal is for sessions to be supportive and inclusive, and for clients to become more aware of themselves and of what shapes them.
