Ashley Berger approaches therapy from the conviction that every person’s struggles are real and every emotion earned — and that good therapy means walking alongside someone, not ahead of them. Working out of Ottawa and across Ontario via online sessions, Ashley draws on narrative, cognitive behavioural, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused, and dialectical behavioural frameworks, weaving them around each client’s own strengths rather than applying a fixed formula. Anti-oppressive practice and a client-centered stance shape everything.
Ashley works with children aged 10 and up, teenagers, adults, and families navigating anxiety, trauma and complex PTSD, personality disorders, burnout, family conflict, and the particular pressures of different life stages. Before training as a psychotherapist, Ashley spent a decade as a guidance counsellor — that grounding in youth development remains central to the work. As someone who is neurodivergent, Ashley brings both professional skill and personal understanding to clients living with ADHD, ASD, learning disabilities, and multiple exceptionalities, and is a committed ally to LGBTQ2IA+ individuals.
A free 15-minute consultation is available for anyone considering whether Ashley is the right fit. Sessions are offered through Psychotherapy Collective, an Ontario-wide online clinic built on the belief that empowerment grows through genuine connection.
