Ben Hartford’s practice is built around a simple conviction: people already carry more strength than they realize, and good therapy helps them find it. Working from a strengths-based approach, Ben draws on a client’s own experiences and capacities to help them build solutions that actually hold. He is a Registered Psychotherapist with a Master of Arts in Theology: Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy, and he brings both clinical grounding and a frank personal understanding of burnout to every session โ having navigated his own before choosing this work.
Ben works with men and women facing anxiety, depression, grief, anger, caregiver stress, relational conflict, and spiritual questions. He also has deep experience with addictions and compulsive behaviour, including gambling and patterns like compulsive scrolling or gaming where the same reward loops show up in new forms. His practice is 2SLGBTQ+ affirming, and sessions are available online.
Clients have described Ben as warm, calm, and genuinely easy to talk to โ someone who listens without flinching. He works from the belief that past hurts don’t have to be permanent weight, and that a clearer, more settled life is within reach regardless of where someone is starting from.
