Colleen Hood builds her practice on a simple conviction: that each person carries within them the capacity to move toward a life that feels worth living. Working from a relational, strengths-based foundation, she draws on Relational Psychotherapy alongside training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Grief Therapy — meeting clients not only where they are, but with genuine regard for where they have been and what they hope for.
With thirty years of experience spanning education, research, and therapeutic practice, Colleen works with individuals navigating trauma and loss, adults and teenagers managing anxiety, depression, or personality disorders, people in recovery from addiction, and those healing from abuse. Her background in Therapeutic Recreation also shapes her work: she believes that engaging a person’s natural strengths through meaningful activity is itself a path to feeling better.
Colleen purposefully attends to the wholeness of a person’s story — past, present, and imagined future — helping clients weave those threads into something coherent and livable. She sees clients across the lifespan and offers sessions through a secure online platform, serving individuals, couples, and families throughout Ontario.
