David Fairweather

Understanding alone doesn't change things β€” but the right relationship can.

About Me

With two decades of private practice behind him, David Fairweather has worked with a particular kind of person: someone self-aware enough to understand their patterns yet still unable to break free of them. That gap β€” between knowing and changing β€” is where his work lives. His training spans stress and anxiety regulation, trauma and emotional processing, behaviour and habit change, guided imagery, and depth-oriented relational psychotherapy, giving him the range to work practically when that is what someone needs and more deeply when the situation calls for it.

He works with adults navigating anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, trauma, identity questions, self-esteem, and chronic pain β€” as well as people whose difficulty sustaining focus or resisting compulsive behaviour has quietly taken over their days. Sessions feel collaborative rather than clinical, grounded in the belief that real change emerges from a relationship where difficult experiences can finally be examined clearly, not just catalogued.

David practises in Woodbridge, Ontario, and offers online sessions. Whether the work is brief and targeted or longer and more exploratory, his aim is consistent: not only to ease the presenting difficulty, but to strengthen the person carrying it.
