Older teens and adults come to me with life transitions, identity questions and complex trauma. I also support people with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, identity exploration and difficult family dynamics. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Alameda, California, and my name is Ella Bastone.
I enjoy working with recent college graduates, people with foster care backgrounds and queer individuals, and my work is primarily with current and former foster youth aged 18 to 30. How childhood experiences shape people into who they become is a particular interest of mine.
I work best with clients who can show up for regular sessions over time, ideally long-term. I see healing as something that grows within the therapeutic relationship, with self-acceptance and deeper connection as the aim. Therapy is collaborative, and I follow the client’s lead while adding structure and guidance. I ask about goals early and use them to guide sessions, and the first session covers a client’s background, reasons for starting therapy and hopes.
