My work with couples and individuals centers on life transitions, communication and more meaningful connection. I’m Erica Carpenter, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Plano, Texas, and I work with adults and couples who want deeper understanding of themselves and each other, beyond coping.
I take an experiential approach that draws on nervous system awareness. Sessions explore how concerns appear in the body, in how a person reacts and in relationships, beyond discussion alone. Together we notice patterns in the moment, build awareness of responses and practice relating in more grounded ways.
Therapy is collaborative and supportive, and the pace is set around each client’s sense of safety. The work covers clearer communication, steadier handling of transitions, stuck patterns, emotional safety and connection. With couples, it includes slowing conversations down, building trust and repairing things after conflict. For individuals, the work includes making sense of what they experience inside.
