Kristy Cartwright

Your capacity for change is already there — therapy helps you use it.

About Me

Kristy Cartwright holds to a simple conviction: that every person already carries within them the capacity for meaningful change. What therapy offers, in her view, is not rescue but partnership — a collaborative space where that inner capacity gets recognized, named, and put to work. Kristy is a Registered Psychotherapist based in Whitby, Ontario, who works with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families navigating concerns that range from anxiety, depression, and trauma to addiction, abuse, and relationship strain.

Her approach is non-directive and deeply individualized. Rather than applying a single framework, she draws on Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques — choosing what fits the person in front of her. She is equally attentive to the loneliness that can settle in when someone is reachable around the clock yet still feels unseen by the people in their life. Honesty, integrity, and compassion are the constants, alongside an emphasis on strengths and collaborative goal-setting.

Clients are welcomed into a nonjudgmental environment where their story can be told fully and met with genuine empathy. Online sessions are available.
