Somewhere between feeling stuck and not knowing where to start, Matt Bean does his steadiest work. A Registered Psychotherapist based in Burlington, Ontario, Matt brings more than two decades of experience alongside men, women, teenagers, and neurodiverse adults who are worn down by emotions they can’t manage, relationships that won’t settle, or a nagging sense that life is moving in the wrong direction. He founded Orange Spark Counselling to meet people where they are — including those who find it easier to scroll through hundreds of connections than to feel genuinely known by any of them.
Matt works with the full range of what makes change hard: anxiety, depression, personality challenges, internet and gaming overuse, sexual compulsivity, and the particular exhaustion of burning out in a career that no longer fits. Parents navigating conflict at home, teens struggling to find their footing, and adults questioning their next vocational step all find a practical, grounded place to work through what’s in the way.
Drawing on CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and other approaches, Matt tailors the work to the person rather than the method. Sessions are available virtually, keeping the process accessible wherever clients are.
