Compulsive sexual behaviour is the area where Paul Lavergne has focused much of his clinical energy — helping people break free from patterns involving pornography, affairs, dating apps, anonymous encounters, and the steady pull of cam sites and OnlyFans. As a Certified Sexual Recovery Therapist with the American Association of Sex Addiction Therapists, he brings both specialised training and a direct, results-oriented approach to work that many clients find difficult to name, let alone address.
Paul is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the CRPO and holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. He works with teenagers and young adults, men, women, and older adults navigating a wide range of concerns — including anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, relationship conflict, addiction, and workplace burnout. He recognises that the same compulsive reward loops driving sexual behaviour can surface in other forms too: compulsive gambling, excessive gaming, or hours lost to scrolling without any clear sense of why. His eclectic therapeutic style is shaped around each client’s personality and learning style, with treatment goals built collaboratively from the first session.
Paul is based in Peterborough, Ontario, and offers online sessions for those unable to attend in person. He has been in private practice since 2011 and is a member of the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals.
