Peter Frieswick holds a conviction that most people arrive at therapy already carrying the seeds of their own recovery β what they need is the right conditions to let those seeds take root. A Registered Psychotherapist based in Guelph, Ontario, Peter works with individuals aged 16 and older who are living with trauma, OCD, and anxiety: people who feel derailed by reactions they can’t explain, overwhelmed by emotions they can’t contain, or so numbed out that nothing feels real anymore.
That disconnection shows up in quiet, specific ways β scrolling through messages at midnight, technically in contact with everyone yet not genuinely reached by anyone, the ache of feeling unseen even when you’re never alone. Peter meets people in that gap. Drawing on DBT, CBT, EMDR, ACT, and self-compassion practices, he builds a therapeutic approach that is tailored to each person’s strengths and shaped around their particular needs, with the goal of restoring a felt sense of safety β in the mind, in the body, and in daily life.
Peter describes his role as that of a steady, direct, and non-judgmental guide. His aim is not to fix people but to help them see more clearly, find meaning after loss, and reclaim a sense of agency over their own lives. Online sessions are available.
