The people who find their way to Rebecca Brownell are often carrying something they’ve struggled to name — the weight of a painful past, a relationship coming apart, anxiety that won’t quiet down, or grief that has made ordinary life feel impossible. She has spent more than three decades helping individuals, couples, and families move through exactly these kinds of moments, working with adults and older teenagers across a wide range of concerns including trauma, depression, separation and divorce, chronic pain, and difficulties with anger and self-worth.
Rebecca draws on several evidence-informed approaches to meet each person where they are, among them Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, EMDR for post-traumatic stress, EFT, and Hypnotherapy. This range allows her to work flexibly rather than from a fixed script, shaping the therapeutic process around what each individual or couple actually needs.
She holds registration as a Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and is a Clinical Member of both the Ontario and American Associations of Marriage and Family Therapy and the National Guild of Hypnotists — credentials she supports with a firm commitment to their ethical standards. Sessions are available in person, by phone, or virtually, and coverage may apply through an EAP or extended health benefits plan.
