Rita France builds her practice around the belief that real change begins when someone finally feels heard without fear of judgment. Working from Cambridge, Ontario, Rita offers both in-person and online sessions across individual, couples, marriage, family, and group counselling — meeting people wherever they are in life and whatever brought them there.
She works with children, teenagers, adults, and seniors navigating a wide range of difficulties: relationship breakdown and infidelity, parenting strain, grief, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, and faith-based concerns. Compulsive patterns are a particular thread through her work — whether those show up as alcohol or drug dependence, gambling, sexual addiction, or the pull of gaming and online activity that starts to crowd out the rest of life.
Rita draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Solution-Focused Therapy, and family systems approaches, tailoring the combination to what each person actually needs. Her academic background spans religious education, counselling psychology, and a Master of Divinity, and she is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. The goal she returns to, session after session, is straightforward: helping people find the freedom to live the way they want to live.
