What clients carry out of Rob Stanley’s sessions is something deceptively simple: a clearer sense of why. Working from a foundation of Narrative and Person-Centred Therapy, Rob helps people move past the surface of their struggles β the anxiety that won’t lift, the relationship that keeps breaking down, the career that feels hollow β and toward the stories and patterns underneath. That orientation shapes everything about how he works.
Rob supports teenagers, adults, and older clients navigating a wide range of concerns: depression, grief, addiction, identity, self-esteem, abuse, life transitions, and burnout, among others. He brings particular attention to the way relentless connectivity erodes rest β clients who can’t step away from a screen often find that their nervous system never fully settles, and that dysregulation quietly drives a great deal of what brings them into therapy. His educational background spans English Literature, Theology, Cognitive Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, and his practice reflects all of it.
A Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO and a member of the OAMHP, Rob has worked across private, corporate, educational, correctional, and not-for-profit settings. He sees clients in Oakville and online across Ontario.
