Sara Usmani

Growth is possible — therapy follows your lead, not a formula.

About Me

Sara Usmani begins from a conviction that every person carries within them the capacity for growth — and that therapy works best when it honours that capacity rather than overlooking it. Drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, somatic approaches, and mindfulness-based practice, she shapes each engagement around what a particular client actually needs, rather than fitting clients to a fixed method. Her training spans schools, inpatient units, and community settings, giving her a grounded, cross-context understanding of how people struggle and how they recover.

Sara works with teenagers, young adults, men, women, and older adults navigating anxiety and depression, trauma, grief, personality and developmental concerns, and questions of identity — including the particular pressures that come with immigrant and first-generation experience. She also supports couples and families working through communication breakdowns, divorce, parenting conflicts, and family-of-origin dynamics; she recognises, for instance, how a conversation that should happen face to face instead unravels across a thread of text messages, adding layers of misreading to an already tender moment.

Professional burnout and workplace stress are also central to her practice. Sessions are available online, and Sara brings to every one of them a collaborative, culturally sensitive presence that her clients describe as both warm and unhurried.
