Most people contact Sarah Belland when they’ve been carrying something heavy for too long — a relationship unraveling, a pattern they can’t break, a past that keeps reshaping the present. As a Registered Psychotherapist and the founder of Belland Psychotherapy in Sudbury, Ontario, she works with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families facing depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and the pressures that strain close relationships.
Sarah’s approach is collaborative by design. She draws on Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, selecting and combining what will actually serve each person rather than applying a fixed method. A meaningful part of her work involves understanding what hasn’t helped before — because that history, examined carefully, often points toward what will. The goal isn’t only to ease what’s hard right now; it’s to reach the root of it, so the change holds.
Sarah holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She offers in-person, virtual, and phone sessions, with a sliding scale available for those who need it.
