Theresa Evans Knight

Compassion is the word Theresa Evans Knight returns to when describing what she brings into the therapy room — and she comes to it not as an abstraction but as someone who has lived through devastating loss. She is one of eight siblings. She has received the kind of phone call that permanently rearranges a life. That firsthand knowledge of grief, trauma, and the particular weight of putting yourself aside for others shapes how she practices. For Terri, therapy is not about cataloguing what has gone wrong; it is about locating the strength that already exists in a person and building on it.

She works with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, developmental challenges, trauma, emotional abuse, family conflict, and major life transitions — including career change and workplace difficulty. Her solution-focused approach asks not what is broken, but what is working and how to do more of it. She also notices how conflict migrates into the spaces between people — a disagreement that starts in person and continues over text, or the quiet distance that settles at the table when phones come out — and helps families and couples address what is actually happening beneath the surface.

Terri holds a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fairfield University and an MBA from Atlanta University, and brings more than 25 years of business and marketing experience alongside her clinical background. She is a state-certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Norwalk, Connecticut, with online sessions available.
