Building strength for life’s hardest moments is at the heart of Jeff Sturgeon’s practice. As a Registered Clinical Social Worker authorized by the Alberta College of Social Workers, Jeff works with people across the full span of life — teenagers finding their footing, adults navigating crisis or addiction, and older adults facing exploitation or loss — helping them understand their own thoughts, actions, and beliefs more clearly so that everyday functioning can genuinely improve.
Jeff draws on Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy, choosing the approach that fits each person’s specific situation. For clients whose anxiety or impulse-control struggles are tangled up with habits like compulsive scrolling or late-night gaming, CBT offers concrete tools for rebuilding steadier routines one step at a time. Sessions are available individually, for couples, and for families, with evening and weekend appointments offered to accommodate busy schedules.
Jeff provides both in-person counselling in Calgary’s Beltline neighbourhood and online sessions, and holds a Master of Social Work alongside undergraduate degrees in Social Work and Psychology. A sliding-scale fee and free initial consultations are available, and most extended benefit plans provide coverage.
