Most people contact Sandra Tatroe when they’ve been putting it off for weeks — they know they need support but can’t quite bring themselves to make the call. She gets that. Trumbull-based LCSW Sandra Tatroe has spent 25 years working with adults navigating depression, anxiety, and substance use, and she brings the same no-nonsense warmth to every first conversation that she brings to every session after it. Whether the compulsive pull is toward a bottle, a substance, or a slot-machine app that’s somehow become a three-hour nightly ritual, she recognizes the underlying loops and knows how to work with them.
What distinguishes her approach is a commitment to leaving people with something useful right away. From the very first appointment, she teaches practical, evidence-based coping skills drawn primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy — adapted, not rigid, because she works dynamically and meets each person where they actually are. She coordinates care with prescribers and other providers when relevant, and collaborates with whoever a client wants involved in their treatment.
Sandra is first-generation Portuguese-American, fluent in Portuguese, and brings firsthand familiarity with the pressures of acculturation. She sees adults exclusively via telehealth, with weekday and Saturday availability.
