Scott McKirdy

Practical tools for the life you're trying to build

About Me

Scott McKirdy works from a straightforward conviction: lasting change comes not from insight alone, but from building the practical tools that make a different way of living actually possible. A Registered Psychologist based in Calgary and available across Alberta via online sessions, Scott brings that same grounded pragmatism to everyone he works with — individuals, couples, children, and families navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, developmental concerns, and the strains that accumulate in relationships over time.

His practice spans a wide range of needs: formal assessment and DSM-5 diagnosis, marriage and couples counselling, support for adolescents and young adults, coparenting after separation, and guidance through chronic illness and pain. He works with men, women, children, and teens, and treats learning difficulties and professional burnout with the same careful attention he brings to mood and anxiety disorders.

For clients who find it hard to start tasks, stay on track, or follow through on what matters to them — whether that difficulty shows up at work, in school, or at the end of an evening lost to reflexive scrolling — Scott’s approach focuses on strengthening the inner structures that sustain attention and build momentum. Evidence-based, collaborative, and shaped around each person’s actual life.
