Sherry Henig has built her practice on Long Island over four decades, drawing on doctoral training, extensive postdoctoral study, and a genuine curiosity that has taken her well beyond the consulting room. She pursued advanced specialization in child and adolescent therapy, became certified as a sex therapist through AASECT, trained in divorce mediation at the Ackerman Institute, and developed expertise in OCD treatment through the International OCD Foundation β each credential growing out of a real clinical need she wanted to meet more fully.
She works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, addressing anxiety, mood disorders, relationship and intimacy challenges, family conflict, divorce, OCD, phobias, identity, and self-esteem. When couples arrive describing arguments that started as text exchanges β misread tone, a message left on read β she recognizes that as its own kind of communication problem, one that her work in marriage and family therapy is well suited to untangle.
Alongside her clinical practice, Henig has written children’s picture books, parents’ guides, and a book on dating and relationships on Long Island. She also offers online sessions and can be reached through her website at sherryhenig.com.
