Wayne Bullock works from a conviction that lasting change requires understanding a person whole — not managing symptoms in isolation, but tracing how the past shapes the present and how the world a person inhabits shapes who they are. That conviction has guided his practice since 2009, built on deep specialized training in interpersonal psychoanalytic therapy, an approach research shows produces relief that actually holds over time.
He works with adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief, anger, body image concerns, eating patterns, sexual addiction, and the particular pain of feeling like you’re perpetually in contact with people — texts, feeds, notifications — yet somehow never quite reached by any of them. His practice also includes adjustment to major life transitions, abandonment, co-dependency, trauma, LGBTQ+ concerns, and post-abortion healing.
Wayne holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s in Human Sexuality from Widener University, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the William Alanson White Institute. He teaches and supervises at the Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. Based in Washington, DC, he offers both in-person and online sessions at $255 per 45-minute hour, and can assist with out-of-network insurance reimbursement.
