Jenny Adams

You deserve a full life; the work is figuring out what's in the way.

About Me

Jenny Adams builds her counseling practice around a simple conviction: that the wounds and distorted thinking blocking a person’s life can be examined, named, and worked through. Working with individuals and groups in Dallas and online, she takes a collaborative, direct approach — sitting with clients rather than prescribing to them, and treating the therapeutic relationship itself as part of the healing process.

Her focus is on people navigating addiction, betrayal trauma, abuse, and codependency. That includes those wrestling with substance use or sexual addiction, partners processing the fallout of betrayal, survivors working through abuse or neglect, and couples and families trying to repair what’s broken. Her clinical background includes specialized substance abuse work at Nexus Recovery Center and formal training in sexual addiction therapy; she has also trained with Pia Melody on trauma, codependence, and love addiction.

Jenny’s path into this field was shaped significantly by her own experience of recovery and self-discovery — a fact she brings with her into the room. She holds an LPC and a master’s in counseling and development from Texas Woman’s University, and she came to the field after a prior career in engineering and more than a decade outside traditional work settings. She believes that a full life — purposeful, joyful, and honest — is possible, and that no one has to reach it alone.
