Walking into a first session with Jody Rambold, clients often notice something they didn’t expect: permission to go slowly. Jody works as a trauma and relationship therapist in Victoria, BC, and her practice is built on the conviction that healing happens through relationship, trust, and a pace that the nervous system can actually tolerate. Before anything else, she focuses on building the kind of safety that makes deeper work possible.
Jody helps adults who are carrying the weight of early childhood trauma — people struggling with anxiety, depression, substance use, attachment wounds, abuse, or the particular exhaustion of not knowing why close relationships keep feeling so hard. Her approach, grounded in Somatic Attachment therapy, draws on Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, and Interpersonal Neurobiology. Rather than managing symptoms through conversation alone, she works with the body — tracking emotions, sensations, and gestures in session to help release trauma that has become lodged in the nervous system.
Jody holds a Master’s in Counselling from City University of Seattle and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria, and has spent her career working in mental health and substance use. She offers both in-person and online sessions, and welcomes new clients with a complimentary consultation.
