Mindful Pleasures Therapy

FOUR YEARS OF TRUSTED THERAPY, SUPPORTING GROWTH AND CHANGE.

About Me

Hi, I’m Ashlyn, a Registered Psychotherapist and founder of Mindful Pleasures Therapy, a women-owned virtual practice offering individual, couples, and sex therapy across Ontario. I completed my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto, and my work is grounded in relational, attachment-based, and trauma-informed approaches.

I believe therapy should feel like a safe, collaborative space where you can slow down, explore what’s beneath the surface, and reconnect with your sense of self and your relationships. My style is warm, direct, and deeply compassionate. I support clients in understanding the emotional patterns that shape their inner world and relationships—helping them move toward greater clarity, connection, and self-trust.

In my practice, I work with individuals navigating anxiety, identity, self-esteem, and life transitions, as well as couples seeking to rebuild closeness, improve communication, and navigate intimacy. I also offer sex therapy, supporting clients and couples exploring desire discrepancies, sexual shame, performance anxiety, and rediscovering pleasure and comfort in their bodies.

At Mindful Pleasures Therapy, we see healing as a relational process that begins with awareness and compassion. I integrate evidence-based modalities including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and somatic awareness to help clients reconnect with themselves and their needs.

All sessions are offered virtually to create flexible and accessible care for busy lives. Our team also offers low-cost and sliding-scale options to make therapy more inclusive and approachable.

Whether you’re seeking to strengthen your relationship, navigate personal growth, or reconnect with intimacy and self-understanding, I offer a supportive and grounded space to explore your journey.

Feeling replaced by a screen can cut deeper than distraction—it can touch on desirability, safety, and emotional access. This post explores when screens genuinely erode intimacy and when they function as a coping strategy for stress, resentment, or vulnerability. Instead of focusing only on tech rules, it examines the emotional context beneath disconnection and why rebuilding safety often matters more than banning phones from the bedroom.
When screens enter a relationship, the issue isn’t usually the device itself—it’s what it amplifies. This post explores how different attachment styles respond to stress, why one partner’s scrolling can feel like rejection to another, and how emotional availability erodes quietly over time. Instead of blame or shame, it invites curiosity about what’s happening beneath the surface, reminding us that screens don’t break connection—they expose where it already feels fragile.
