Bert Bennett

Clients have the strengths; Bennett helps them put those strengths to work.

About Me

Bert Bennett’s practice is built on a simple conviction: clients already carry the strengths they need, and his role is to help them find and use those strengths. A Registered Clinical Social Worker based in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Bennett brings more than three decades of experience across private practice and acute hospital care, working with everyone from young children to older adults navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives.

His approach is interactional rather than prescriptive — he meets people where they actually are, not where a theory says they should be. Central to his work is a deep respect for self-determination: Bennett believes that lasting change comes through informed choices, and he works to ensure clients have the clarity and confidence to make them. That commitment shapes everything from how he opens a first session to how he supports someone through a long-term struggle.

Bennett works with individuals, couples, and families facing challenges that include addiction, trauma and abuse recovery, anxiety, depression, and professional burnout, among others. He offers both in-person and online sessions, and holds graduate-level training in social work.
