Douglas Hanson believes that lasting change requires working at the root of suffering β not just managing symptoms, but actually resolving the pain underneath them. Over thirty years of practice in Winnipeg, Manitoba have deepened his conviction that people who feel stuck, who have tried everything and found nothing that works, can still heal. He holds the Canadian Certified Counsellor designation and brings evidence-based methods β including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, EMDR, and Somatic Psychology β to bear on some of the most persistent and painful human struggles.
Douglas works with individuals across a wide range of ages and circumstances: teenagers carrying the weight of anxiety and online pressures into every waking hour, adults navigating trauma, depression, or addiction, and older clients dealing with the aftermath of abuse or loss. His work spans crisis intervention, dissociative disorders, mood and personality disorders, grief, and career burnout, among many other concerns. Sessions are available in person in Winnipeg or online.
His approach is compassionate and direct. Rather than offering temporary relief, Douglas aims to help clients build genuine, durable change β the kind that reshapes how a person thinks, feels, and moves through their life.
