Elizabeth Clarke

Interrupting the status quo to build a life worth narrating.

About Me

Most people contact Liz Clarke when something has shifted enough that staying the same feels harder than reaching out. That threshold looks different for everyone — it might be grief that won’t lift, a relationship pulling apart, a career that no longer fits, or a quiet sense that life could mean more than it currently does. Liz works with children, teenagers, adults across the lifespan, and families navigating these kinds of pressures, whether the source is anxiety, depression, trauma, conflict, or the accumulated weight of burnout.

Her approach draws on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Strength-Based Therapy, among others — chosen not as a fixed formula but as tools suited to what each person actually brings to the room. She holds that real change begins when people examine old patterns honestly and then build something better in their place: her practice centres on identifying personal strengths, reframing experience, and developing the concrete skills that support a genuinely flourishing life.

Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Liz also facilitates youth programs and workshops on purpose-building and suicide intervention skills. She is a member in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists and offers online sessions alongside in-person appointments.
