Emily Zabel believes that meaningful change begins when therapy is shaped around the person sitting across from her β not the other way around. Working from Trail, British Columbia, and available online, Emily draws on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to build a process that fits each client’s particular struggles and goals. She is also one of a small number of practitioners in the region certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, an approach that works through eye movements and imagery to help people process difficult experiences without requiring them to narrate the details of their trauma β often with results in as few as one to five sessions.
Emily works with teenagers, adults, couples, and families on concerns ranging from anxiety, depression, and grief to workplace burnout, abuse recovery, and addictions including internet and gaming. Her CBT-I training specifically addresses insomnia, which makes her well placed to help clients whose sleep has been eroded by late-night scrolling or the difficulty of winding down after hours of screen exposure. She has also completed specialized training in firefighter culture and emergency worker trauma, giving her grounded insight into the pressures facing first responders.
Sessions are tailored, practically focused, and built to give clients tools they can keep using long after the work together ends. A sliding scale is available for those facing financial barriers, and a free fifteen-minute phone consultation is offered to anyone exploring whether her approach is the right fit.
