Walking into a first session with Jonathan Christink β or joining one by video or phone β tends to feel less like an intake appointment and more like a candid conversation with someone who has genuinely thought about what brings people to counselling in the first place. His opening position is a simple one: asking for help is not a concession to weakness but one of the more honest and courageous things a person can do.
Jonathan works with children, adolescents, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger, trauma, low self-esteem, addictions, and the everyday difficulties that accumulate into something harder to carry alone. That includes the compulsive pull of gaming or endless scrolling β the same reward loops showing up in new places. His academic background spans Psychology, Special Education, and Education from the University of Toronto, with additional clinical training in cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and EMDR.
Based in Oakville, Ontario, Jonathan brings particular depth to work with individuals who have learning difficulties, families in conflict or transition, and young people who are struggling to find their footing. His approach is grounded in the conviction that personal difficulty is a normal part of being human β and that no one has to face it without support.
