Healing, Julianna Switaj believes, is not something done to a person β it is something that awakens within them. A Registered Psychologist based in Guelph, Ontario, she has spent more than three decades working as a scientist-practitioner, building not just clinical skill but a genuine fluency in the conditions under which people actually change. Her graduate training spans the University of Toronto, McGill, and advanced studies at Harvard, where she pursued research in areas ranging from psychoneuroimmunology and meditation to hypnosis, imagery, and traditional healing practices.
Julianna works with adults navigating anxiety, mood and depressive disorders, personality and adjustment challenges, grief, burnout, and the particular exhaustion that comes when work follows a person home through their phone and never quite lets go. Her approach holds mind, body, spirit, and community in view at once β drawing on that breadth to meet each client where their life is actually tangled, not where it looks tidiest. Sessions, available online, begin with careful listening and the gathering of a real picture: history, concerns, what the client most wants to be different. From there, the two of them map a direction together.
She sings in a choir, bikes and hikes, loves the performing and visual arts, and finds herself drawn to the work of physicist David Bohm β a fascination with how things connect beneath the surface that feels, in her practice, like anything but a coincidence.
