Nicole Postma

Healing grows when the body and mind are heard together.

About Me

When someone finally reaches out to Nicole Postma, they have often been carrying something heavy for a long time — the aftermath of trauma, the weight of chronic illness, a burnout that crept in quietly, or the particular ache of feeling unseen even when surrounded by people, scrolling through full feeds while something inside goes unheard. Nicole is a Registered Social Worker with twenty years in the field, and her work begins with a simple conviction: the body and the mind are telling the same story, and both deserve to be listened to.

Her practice draws on somatic and embodied approaches alongside traditional therapy, including her specialized training in Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), a 300-hour program through the Justice Resource Institute and the Center for Trauma and Embodiment in Boston. TCTSY opens a path toward healing that does not require words — participants notice sensation, practice making choices, and gradually rebuild the connection between body and brain. Nicole offers this work in both individual and group formats, weaving it together with approaches such as CBT, mindfulness, and meditation.

She works with adults navigating trauma, abuse, anxiety, dissociation, grief tied to illness, and the depletion of professional burnout. Her aim throughout is practical and grounded: help people recognize their own strengths, understand how their nervous system works, and take real ownership of the changes they want to make.
