From the moment Sandy Jeffels opens a session, the pace belongs to the client. She checks in regularly — not as a formality, but because feeling safe enough to go deeper is what makes the work possible. Her style is warm and grounded, moved along by active inquiry and genuine curiosity about the person across from her. Counseling, in her view, is a process of discovery rather than prescription: she listens first, then builds an individualized plan around each person’s own goals.
Sandy works with adults sixteen and older navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, infertility and pregnancy loss, parenting pressures, life transitions, and interpersonal conflict — including the quiet friction that builds when phones at the dinner table slowly replace conversation. Drawing on approaches such as CBT, attachment-based therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and narrative and strength-based methods, she brings evidence-based technique to bear without losing the human thread that holds a session together.
A Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, Sandy has spent over fifteen years working across hospital and community settings in Kingston, Ontario. Sessions are available in person and by videoconference, and a free fifteen-minute phone consultation is offered so both practitioner and client can gauge the fit before committing.
