Grace, compassion, and a clear-eyed understanding of human complexity sit at the center of Stephanie Smith-Jefferson’s practice. With 34 years of clinical experience, she brings a rare depth of training to her work — a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy, a Master’s in Human Genetics and Genetic Counseling, certification as a Clinical Trauma Professional, and completed EMDR Levels I and II. Her additional graduate study in Christian sex therapy, sexual addiction, trauma, abuse, and couples communication reflects a commitment to continually expanding what she can offer the people who come to her.
Stephanie works with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families navigating some of life’s most difficult terrain — including trauma and abuse recovery, mood and anxiety disorders, sexual addiction, family conflict, infidelity, and the long reach of childhood wounds. She holds a Board Certification in Telemental Health and offers online sessions alongside in-person care in the Ridgeland, Mississippi area.
Her faith informs how she shows up in the room: as someone who has received grace, she extends it. A board member of an organization serving survivors of intimate partner violence, and a longtime speaker and consultant to community organizations, she brings that same attentiveness to every client she serves. As a wife and mother of two, she knows firsthand what it takes to hold a family together through competing demands and hard seasons.
