Amanda Rennick-Hazen

Grief has no timeline, and healing has no fixed shape.

About Me

Walking into a first session with Amanda Rennick-Hazen, clients are met with a simple, guiding idea: there is no wrong way to feel what you feel. Amanda is a Registered Psychotherapist based in Sutton West, Ontario, offering both in-person and online sessions to teenagers, young adults, men, and women navigating grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, workplace burnout, family conflict, and the particular exhaustion that builds when the mind never gets a true rest — including for those whose days and nights blur together under the weight of constant notifications and unrelenting demands on their attention.

Her work holds space for the kind of loss that doesn’t resolve on a schedule: grief that resurfaces at a birthday or anniversary years later, layered losses, and mourning that others fail to recognize or validate. She works from a positive psychology foundation, helping clients identify their own strengths and develop practical tools — drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Grief Therapy, Mindfulness Meditation, and Trauma-Informed approaches — while keeping the process as comfortable and individually paced as possible.

Amanda holds a Master of Education in Counselling Psychology from OISE, University of Toronto, and carries advanced certifications in traumatology and grief counselling. Whether someone needs short-term support, ongoing work, or a single clarifying session, she meets people where they are.
