Betty Lapeyre

You are already the expert in your own life — therapy helps you hear that clearly.

About Me

From the moment Betty Lapeyre welcomes someone into a session, the intention is clear: this is a place where nothing has to be performed. For many people, that first hour is simply the relief of being heard without an agenda attached. Betty is a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in Kamloops, British Columbia, who works with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, grief, relational ruptures, burnout, trauma, and the quiet weight of feeling stuck.

Her clinical foundation is person-centred, meaning she treats each person as the authority on their own experience. Rather than applying a fixed protocol, she draws on Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, ACT, and CBT to shape sessions around what each client actually needs. She often works with the tension that surfaces when partners or family members feel further apart than ever — even when they’re sitting in the same room, each absorbed in a separate screen — and she takes that kind of ordinary friction as seriously as any formal diagnosis.

Betty holds a Master’s degree in counselling psychology and sees clients online, making support accessible wherever someone is ready to begin. The work she describes is genuinely collaborative: moving at the client’s pace, building self-awareness, and helping people reconnect with the relationships and values that matter most to them.
