At the heart of Dena Leibowitz’s practice is a conviction that lasting change comes not from any single technique, but from weaving together the best of several worlds. Drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy, hypnotherapy, motivational coaching, mindfulness, and yoga, Dena has spent 25 years helping people move through addiction, anxiety, mood disorders, and the particular exhaustion of lives that leave little room to breathe — including teens who carry social pressure everywhere in their pockets, and the parents trying to reach them across a dinner table that now competes with a dozen glowing screens.
An LCADC licensed in Maryland, Dena works with individuals, couples, families, and groups across a wide range of concerns: alcohol and drug dependencies, gambling and sexual addictions, impulse control, personality and depressive disorders, relationship conflict, infidelity, divorce, and professional burnout, among others. Her sessions are available online, making her integrative approach accessible wherever someone is ready to begin.
Her orientation is ultimately optimistic: she believes every person holds the capacity to build an inner steadiness that can meet life’s obstacles with curiosity rather than dread, and to move toward a way of living that holds more ease and genuine self-compassion than the one they arrived with.
