The couples who find Geoff Williams are often past the point of hoping things will sort themselves out. Something has broken — a betrayal, a pattern of arguments that circles back to the same wound, a distance that’s grown too wide to cross without help. Geoff works with individuals and couples in Victoria and across British Columbia who need more than a place to air grievances; they need to understand what’s actually happening and what, concretely, to do about it.
For couples, he uses the Gottman Method to identify and interrupt the cycles that keep conflict stuck, and brings a capability few couples therapists offer: where anxiety, ADHD, or substance use is fuelling relational conflict, he can fold individual assessment and diagnosis directly into treatment. For individuals, he addresses anxiety, anger, substance use, and the kind of entrenched patterns — including the restless 3 a.m. phone-checking that keeps anxious minds from ever fully landing — that are genuinely hard to shift alone.
Geoff describes his style as kind, direct, and collaborative. He comes prepared, keeps sessions focused on what matters most, and aims to send clients away with a clearer sense of what comes next. Online sessions are available throughout BC; in-person sessions in Victoria. Direct billing is offered through several major providers.
