Many people arrive carrying the weight of things that were done to them — cycles of manipulation, mistreatment, or exploitation that have quietly narrowed their sense of choice. Karen Pitt, a Registered Psychotherapist based in Mississauga, Ontario, works with individuals who are ready to name what happened and begin moving differently. Her practice is built on the conviction that telling one’s story honestly is itself an act of change.
Karen works with children, teenagers, adults, and elderly clients across a wide range of concerns: trauma and abuse survival, addiction, family conflict, professional burnout, and the particular pressures that come with disability or special needs. She also sits with families where connection has quietly eroded — parents and teens who find it easier to scroll past each other than to talk, couples trying to rebuild communication across distance and distraction. Wherever the breakdown has occurred, her role is to stand alongside people in the middle of it, not ahead of it.
Sessions are available online or by phone, and Karen offers individual counselling, support groups, and psycho-therapeutic courses. Her approach centres inclusion and equity: people from all backgrounds and circumstances are welcome to bring their full story.
