Kathleen Shack

Lasting resolution comes from hearing, not just being heard.

About Me

Kathleen Shack believes that real resolution begins the moment people stop waiting to be understood and start working to understand — and she has built her entire practice around that conviction. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Gottman Therapist, Collaborative Divorce Coach, Child Specialist, and Registered Mediator based in Alpharetta, Georgia, she brings that philosophy to individuals, couples, and families navigating some of the most demanding transitions a person can face.

Her work centers on couples repairing trust after conflict or infidelity, families managing the realities of divorce, and parents building co-parenting relationships that hold together even when the marriage hasn’t. She also recognizes what many couples quietly name in session: that being reachable around the clock — texts answered instantly, feeds scrolled together side by side — can coexist with a creeping sense of being genuinely unknown to each other. Finding the language to close that gap is often where the work begins.

Kathleen draws on over two decades of clinical experience and holds graduate training in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Kentucky. She is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Online sessions are available.
