Whatever brings someone to Kori Hennessy’s door — a fraying marriage, a teenager pulling away, a trauma that won’t stay quiet — she starts by understanding how that specific problem is landing in that specific life. A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Minneapolis, Kori works with adults and adolescents navigating everything from depression and anxiety to sexual concerns, infidelity, self-harm, abuse recovery, and addiction. She is a Certified Sex Therapist and a Certified EMDR Therapist, and she holds a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
Her therapeutic framework draws on mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy — always within a relational, strengths-based approach that keeps the client’s own values at the center. Kori finds this especially meaningful when working with teens who are sorting out who they are across classrooms, family dinners, and the unrelenting social pressure of their feeds all at once. She checks in regularly on pace and direction, because the goal isn’t just progress — it’s progress that actually fits the person making it.
Kori is committed to an affirming, inclusive practice and welcomes individuals across all identities and relationship structures, including LGBTQI clients and those in open or polyamorous relationships. Online sessions are available.
