The call or text that finally comes — after weeks of wondering whether things are “bad enough” to ask for help — is something Manuela Correia-Guerra knows well. As an LPC and the founder of MVCG Psychotherapy Services, she has spent nearly a decade meeting people at exactly that threshold: the moment when something has to change. She works with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, identity questions, relationship strain, and the particular exhaustion that comes from carrying too much for too long — including the kind of low-grade depletion that builds when a person hasn’t had a quiet moment in weeks, their nervous system never quite switching off between notifications, news, and obligation.
Manuela works with clients across the lifespan and across a wide range of concerns: from school stress and parenting conflict to mood disorders, trauma histories, workplace burnout, and addiction. Her therapeutic approach draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and play-based methods for younger clients. Sessions are available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and can be held online.
Her practice is built on the conviction that good therapy begins with genuine listening — understanding a person’s story, their goals, and what healing actually needs to look like for them — before anything else.
