Mariann Arney approaches therapy as an integrative process — one where creative expression, relational insight, and faith-informed perspective work together to help people move through some of the hardest stretches of life. Though her own foundation is Christian, she welcomes clients of all faiths, bringing genuine curiosity and respect to each person’s worldview. Her graduate training at Western Seminary, combined with internships in both private practice and a psychiatric hospital, gave her a clinical range that she continues to draw on across very different kinds of cases.
Mariann works with children, teenagers, adults, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, divorce, anger, and the long reach of a difficult childhood. Her dedicated play therapy space — where art, sand, and play become the medium — gives younger clients and teens a way to process emotions that words alone rarely reach. For adults who find their nervous system stuck in overdrive from endless notifications and interrupted attention, DBT skills offer concrete tools for stepping back, regulating, and making deliberate choices again.
Beyond her private practice, Mariann has served as a group therapist at St. Joseph’s Behavioral Health, where she taught dialectical behavior therapy in an outpatient psychiatric setting. That background in structured, skill-based clinical work shapes the practical, grounded quality she brings to every session.
