Martin Pinaud

Real change feels natural when the emotional charge is cleared.

About Me

People usually contact Martin Pinaud when they have already tried to manage on their own for too long β€” when a relationship is fracturing, a career feels like a dead end, or the weight of past trauma has quietly become unmanageable. That moment of reaching out, he believes, takes real courage, and he treats it as such.

Martin is a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in North Vancouver with graduate and doctoral training in Counselling Psychology. He works with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families navigating a wide range of challenges: anxiety, depression, addiction, abuse recovery, grief, communication breakdowns, and professional burnout. One pattern he sees regularly is people whose nervous systems simply never get a chance to settle β€” the habit of checking devices at every spare moment keeps the body in a low-level state of alert that makes genuine emotional processing much harder.

His approach is collaborative and individually mapped β€” never a standard template β€” and is designed to produce noticeable movement within four to six sessions. Drawing on trauma-informed methods and targeted work on what he calls emotional charge, Martin focuses on reducing the distress that keeps old patterns locked in place, so that change becomes something that happens more naturally rather than something that has to be continuously forced. Online sessions are available.
