Relationships sit at the center of Roxanne Strauss’s work — with oneself, with family, with partners, with colleagues, and with whatever gives a life its meaning. As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist based in El Cajon, California, she works with individuals, couples, and families who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or quietly certain that things shouldn’t be this hard. Whether someone is carrying the weight of old trauma, navigating an eating disorder, or trying to hold a blended family together when everyone seems to want something different, Roxanne meets them where they are.
Her therapeutic approach is warm and collaborative without being vague about direction. She is certified in Internal Family Systems (IFS), which helps people understand the distinct inner voices and patterns driving their behavior, and in EMDR, a specialized method for processing traumatic and disturbing life experiences. She also brings extensive background in grief work, crisis intervention, anxiety, and spiritual questions — and she is equally comfortable sitting with a parent exhausted by the daily tug-of-war for their teenager’s attention between the dinner table and a phone screen.
Roxanne completed her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy at Bethel University and has trained extensively in trauma, anxiety, and eating disorders. She offers online sessions in addition to her private practice.
