Jody Sommerfeld holds a conviction that real change begins not with fixing what is broken, but with being truly witnessed — and that conviction shapes every aspect of how she works. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) based in Kelowna, British Columbia, she approaches each client as a whole, distinct person rather than a set of symptoms to be managed, building a therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy, honesty, and unconditional regard.
Jody works with children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families navigating a wide range of challenges — including trauma, abuse, addiction, grief, relationship strain, anxiety, depression, and significant life transitions. Her practice draws on an integrative blend of modalities tailored to the individual, with advanced specialty training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). She is a registered provider with ICBC, WorkSafe BC, and the Crime Victims Assistance Program, and serves as a Divorce Coach with the Okanagan Collaborative Family Law Group.
Her goal is a collaborative one: working alongside each person to identify meaningful therapeutic aims and build strategies that lead to lasting, sustainable change. Sessions are available both in person in Kelowna and online.
